famous paintings and portraits

"One is never satisfied with a portrait of a person that one knows". Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, famous German writer. A portrait is a work of art that represents a specific person, a group of people or an animal. Portraits usually show what a person looks like and it also reveals something about that person's personality. Portraits can be sculptured or painted, photographed. They really display the intensity of the subject mood.

Did you know that the earliest portraits recorded in The story "The Funeral Portrait" and the portraits of kings and chiefs were famous? These portraits, paintings from Egypt. Romans continued this legacy with their sculptures. True Portraits of people appeared in the Middle Ages in Europe.

The most famous portrait of all time is "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci.

The portrait is a world famous industrial economy. Many people want their family photographs, portraits haveprofessionals.

Portraits have been created to preserve the individuality of somebody long ago after this person is gone, as a type of souvenir.

The art of portrait have been considered like favorite hobby of many artists and for many of them the main source of living (the portraitists). Techniques for creating a portrait are different from century to century and nowadays they do have a more natural lively look.

Earlier, people loved to own famous portrait paintings created by famous artists, they used to pay a great deal of money just to have them hanged on their walls.

Nowadays, they are most impressed by famous reproductions of portraits, or even better by photographed portraits of famous people (like actors, singers, presidents, etc) that they like to have around.
