A few years ago, we invited some friends home for dinner. Believe that the artist had seen much interested usual. You know how the artists are from the norm as naturally at home reflect their follies. Now, the dinner was a success, but the comments at the dinner was to share some of our new knowledge. Minerva (all names have been changed to protect the guilty), was of the opinion that all art should be shown on Strongwhite walls with white ceilings to complete the whole. This, according to their seriousness, used was 11 Commander Moses. Not only the white though - bright white. Minerva took offense at our living room walls, a semi-gloss red. We have a roof largely white, but is also a mural on the ceiling - with (shiver naked) people in it. Worse, we also had works of art hang on the red walls. Needless to say that there was no reciprocal invitation to dinner, nor have we seen her since.Of course, our taste in furniture is to be polite, unlike.
This is not a debate over the propriety, but remember that using more than one "correct" way to paint, to show art. Plain White is perfectly fine for some houses and temperaments. Is there a neutral ground so that the art can shine. Plain white makes your home look like an art gallery and a little 'infertile (my opinion). On the other hand, many rich colors in a room is a problemtoo. It's all about taste, your personality, and as it pulls out all the good effect.
There are some a bit 'more adventurous the better solutions - all without daring - for a room more comfortable. These neutral colors show more of you as a person and can be a different feeling for art, the type purchased for the room.
Wall Color Choices
The choice of a wall of white, stir a bit 'hot color like red (very, very little orYou end up with pink) or a bit 'yellow to warm the room. This is an unconscious feeling of energy, vitality, or movement.
Another is to think of a very light shade of beige neutral. Not coffee with cream - so much easier. Beige is a neutral color, but not lifeless, like the great white. This is also a color that promotes peace.
Think of a neutral gray tones, how to choose a very light gray - certainly not ironclad. Make sure the gray, you have some recoveryRed in it. Grays can be warm and attractive because of the warm tones of red used in the paint. Grays can be cold (blue paint to the mixture) and less inviting. The blue tones are good, when you promote a sense of calm and serenity, reflection, etc. If you want the color gray is too dark, leave your room (s) looks bleak.
Blankets
The ceilings are much easier. White is the standard required for this, but not just any white. To steal a great source - Oprah - Mix a color lightThe white wall in your ceiling. Staining lightly used in ceiling white space meets wonderfully.
The hardest part is choosing a color for the walls. For input from your spouse / partner is required, but only if they live with you. If it's just for you - what feels right. After all this paint is not just brain surgery on your mother.
If we look forward to him later - you change! Happy painting and teaching!
